The ReadPNG library
====================

This small library is created by Chaos Group to aid the competitors in the CG2 2013 competition.
It is a static library which you can link to a C++ solution, which provides a very easy way to read
.PNG files.

There's no strict reason to use this library. You can use SDL_Image or basically any other free library
available on the net.

USAGE:
-------

READ how to use the library from the include file: include/readpng.h
SEE sample code in sources/example/readpng-example.cpp

Structure:

include/ -- has readpng.h, the header you need to "see" in order to use the library.
lib/ -- has prebuilt static libraries for Windows and Linux (x86/x64).
sources/ -- has the sources of this library, plus some other files for building the lib.

Basically, you need to set up your compiler this way:
- Include path - add the path to readpng.h to your include path (e.g., "PATH_TO_READPNG/include")
- Library path - add the path to lib/<your OS>_<platform>. E.g., with 32-bit windows, you need to add
  "PATH_TO_READPNG/lib/windows_x86"
- Add the library, readpng, to the library dependencies of your executable. Under windows, you need to add
zlib as well, so in Windows you need readpng.lib and zlib.lib to your linker "Input". Under Linux,
you need "-lreadpng -lz" to your compiler command line.

BUILDING:
----------

If you need to build the library yourself, please consult the corresponding ReadMe's in the "sources" directory.
