Moore's law. For the purposes of the calculation, it
assumes that:

You will dedicate all your computing time to crack the password;

Computing power increases twice every 18 months;

The whole search space has to be exhausted. Note that the average time is not simply half the
worst-case time anymore, because of the exponentially increasing speed.
